Netflix Selects Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins multiple recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as head the main antagonist, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of Alabasta.
Although the role is a major member of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
