Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
