Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
US actor Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
