On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered investigations and is still unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "What if there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the recording stated.

The jury was advised that by means of electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a effort to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with the police force who collated the evidence, told the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

Court proceedings
Kate and Gerry McCann testified to the court from protected by a protective barrier on Wednesday

The court learned Mrs Spragg established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in the county in last December.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be considered genuine in the months preceding the visit to the village, that area, in last December.

The court was told communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her bins or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their house, the defendant sent a communication which expressed: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' residence with our headlights off resembling detectives. I desired to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
